In mid-2010, Smithfield top management approached us to help them sell more hams in other times of year. Our solution: The Smithfield Summer Spiral. By redesigning packaging and developing seasonally appropriate messaging we took the spiral ham from the formality of holiday dining room to the picnic basket and beach house. Did it work? Smithfield broke all records with their summer 2011 sales.
